USS Albuquerque Memorial Park: Honoring a Legacy
The USS Albuquerque, a Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, served the United States Navy for nearly 34 years before being decommissioned in 2017. Named after the City of Albuquerque, this submarine played a vital role in defending our nation and honoring the spirit of its namesake city. Now, Pascetti Steel is helping preserve a piece of this historic vessel for future generations.
The City of Albuquerque has secured the sail and fairwater planes of the USS Albuquerque, ensuring that a significant part of its history remains in the community. This massive structure, measuring 33 feet wide, 26 feet long, and standing 19 feet tall, serves as a striking tribute to the servicemen and women who operated the submarine throughout its years of service.

Once fully restored, the USS Albuquerque sail will be permanently placed at Tingley Beach, serving as the focal point of a new memorial. This location, near the water, provides a fitting setting to honor the USS Albuquerque’s legacy and the brave sailors who served aboard her. The City, along with the U.S. Navy and community partners, have developed a draft concept plan for the USS Albuquerque.
