Pascetti Steel designed, fabricated, and installed the stainless-steel pedestrian inspection kiosks at the new Mariposa Land Port of Entry in Nogales, AZ. These stations served as the initial public questioning areas for the many pedestrians entering the US. These very specialized stations are made from 100% stainless plates formed from large single sheets and then mechanically fastened with other powder-coated frames in the field. Each of the desks has a swinging desk section to help keep the officers safe and the public moving freely through the area. Each of the complex kiosks contains data, phone, security, and video controls.
The Mariposa Land Port of Entry occupies approximately 216,000 square feet and the entire site encompasses 54 acres. This project is LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certified, utilizing energy-efficient technologies throughout. According to the U.S. General Services Administration website, the Mariposa Land Port of Entry is one of the United States’ busiest land ports, serving as the main entry point for fresh produce entering from Mexico.
