A high tension cable barrier is a flexible vehicle restraint system designed to improve roadway safety by preventing vehicles from crossing into opposing traffic, leaving the roadway, or entering hazardous areas. Made from high-strength steel cables supported by steel posts, these barriers absorb and dissipate the energy of a vehicle impact, helping to reduce the severity of crashes while safely redirecting vehicles back toward the roadway.
Unlike rigid concrete barriers or traditional guardrails, high tension cable barrier systems are engineered to flex during an impact.
