Baca House Historic Gates and Fencing - Trinidad, Colorado

Pascetti Steel was selected by History Colorado, the state historical association,  to fabricate and install new gates and fencing to match the original historic gates and fencing.

Don Felipe de Jesus Baca was one of the first settlers of the Purgatoire River valley, one of the most important developers of Trinidad, and a member of the Colorado Territorial legislature. He is the namesake of Baca County in southeast Colorado.

In 1873, the Baca family traded 22,000 pounds of wool for an unusual adobe house built for Santa Fe Trail entrepreneur John Hough. The Baca House boasts two stories, a widow's walk, and Greek architectural details. Colorful Rio Grande textiles, Victorian furniture, and other period furnishings evoke the lifestyle of this prominent family.
