Pascetti Steel is proud to have collaborated with PlanD Collaborative, Franken Construction, and Lee Landscapes on this project for custom heavy-duty steel landscape edging at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Welcome Center. This project features 3/8” heavy plate rolled planter edging, designed for durability and aesthetic appeal.

For this project, we installed:

To achieve the iconic weathered look of Corten steel edging at a lower cost, we applied a chemical rusted finish. This treatment gives the steel landscape edging a rich, natural patina that complements the surrounding environment while maintaining structural integrity.

Pascetti Steel recently completed the fabrication & installation of a high tension cable barrier system for a McDonald’s Drive-Thru in Durango, Colorado. This project showcases our expertise in designing & delivering durable cable systems that enhance safety & functionality.

The high tension cable barrier system we installed in Durango provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution for controlling vehicle access & enhancing security. This system included the installation of Large W-beams set into a concrete wall, ensuring a solid foundation for the barrier structure.

Our steel barrier systems are engineered for maximum strength & flexibility, making them ideal for high-traffic areas where impact resistance is crucial.

At Pascetti Steel, we specialize in designing & fabricating custom cable barriers tailored to meet the unique needs of each project.

This project also involved the installation of intermediate steel posts, which were field welded with cross bracing to provide additional stability & strength.

We integrated a drive-thru cable barrier system specifically for the McDonald’s, allowing controlled access while maintaining a secure perimeter.

The threading of ½” cables was meticulously completed to ensure proper tension & function.

Custom Bus Shelters: A Modern Homage to Historic Routes

We had the pleasure of working with Pland Collaborative and the City Of Albuquerque on this exciting new project! These unique bus shelters are installed along Bridge Blvd in the South Valley of Albuquerque, NM. They are not just functional structures; they are a modern tribute to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region.

Designed by Pland Collaborative and inspired by the traditional form of a paraje, or resting place, found along El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. This historic trading route stretches from Mexico City to Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo in Northern New Mexico, serving as a vital link for trade and cultural exchange for centuries.

Our bus shelters feature laser-cut panels with a durable powder coating finish. This ensures precise, clean cuts and a high-quality finish. The powder coating adds an extra layer of protection, enhancing the longevity and durability of the shelters. This makes them both aesthetically pleasing and resistant to weathering.

To complement the bus shelters, we fabricated custom rusted bus station trash cans. These trash cans are designed to match the aesthetic of the shelters, providing a visually appealing streetscape. The rusted finish ensures durability and low maintenance, making them a practical addition to a public space.

Pascetti Steel Design has designed, fabricated and installed powder coated steel casework frames wrapped with white laminate and attached to perforated stainless steel acoustic panels at the new Mariposa Land Port of Entry in Nogales, AZ.  These stations served as public questioning areas for the many pedestrians and drivers traveling across the border entry.  The perforated panels held 3M acoustic insulation to help with the loud sound levels within these busy areas.  Some stations were equipped with bullet-resistant glass and Kevlar panels installed beneath the drywall.

Pascetti Steel Design recently completed the fabrication and installation of a new elevated OSHA-approved catwalk system for Western Refining in Bloomfield, NM. The catwalk was requested by Western Refining to provide top-of-tank access for refinery employees.

Pascetti Steel Design completed catwalks with cage ladder access for three large transfer stations, two exterior areas, and one interior station.  The catwalk systems were transported to the site in pieces that could be easily assembled onsite.  Design and installation for the interior area were especially challenging due to limited access in which all pieces had to be carried in by hand.  All walking surfaces are equipped with galvanized “grip-strut” planking.

All three areas were engineered to be bolted, rather than welded, onsite because the project coincided with the day-to-day operations of this fully functional oil and gas refinery. Pascetti Steel Design has earned a superior safety record, with a number of systematic processes in place to ensure job site safety. We are proud to report zero incidents during the fabrication and installation of this high-risk project.

Walter McReynolds, Supervisor at Western Refining, had this to say regarding the completed project:

“We hired Pascetti Steel Design to fabricate and install elevated catwalk systems for access to the tops of our tanks. I was thoroughly impressed with Damian and his crew.  The project was completed in several stages.  Each phase was completed faster than we expected.  Damian and his crew were extremely knowledgeable and their craftsmanship was impeccable.  We will use Pascetti Steel in the future.”

Western Refining owns and operates two refineries with a total crude oil throughput capacity of approximately 151,000 barrels per day (bpd) producing primarily high-value light products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.
