Corten steel edging for the UNM Welcome Center. Pascetti Steel is proud to have collaborated with PlanD Collaborative, Franken Construction, and Lee Landscapes on this project for custom heavy-duty steel landscape edging at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Welcome Center. This project features 3/8” heavy plate rolled planter edging, designed for durability and aesthetic appeal.

For this project, we installed:

To achieve the iconic weathered look of Corten steel edging at a lower cost, we applied a chemical rusted finish. This treatment gives the steel landscape edging a rich, natural patina that complements the surrounding environment while maintaining structural integrity.

Pascetti Steel recently completed the fabrication & installation of a high tension cable barrier system for a McDonald’s Drive-Thru in Durango, Colorado. This project showcases our expertise in designing & delivering durable cable systems that enhance safety & functionality.

The high tension cable barrier system we installed in Durango provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution for controlling vehicle access & enhancing security. This system included the installation of Large W-beams set into a concrete wall, ensuring a solid foundation for the barrier structure.

Our steel barrier systems are engineered for maximum strength & flexibility, making them ideal for high-traffic areas where impact resistance is crucial.

At Pascetti Steel, we specialize in designing & fabricating custom cable barriers tailored to meet the unique needs of each project.

Our team ensures precision in every step, from material selection to final installation, guaranteeing optimal performance & durability.

This project also involved the installation of intermediate steel posts, which were field welded with cross bracing to provide additional stability & strength.

We integrated a drive-thru cable barrier system specifically for the McDonald’s, allowing controlled access while maintaining a secure perimeter.

The threading of ½” cables was meticulously completed to ensure proper tension & function.

The Westside Community Center at 1250 Isleta Blvd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, holds a rich history as the first community center built by Bernalillo County Parks and Recreation in 1959. In 2024, this center underwent significant renovations to enhance its facilities and provide more amenities for the local community. Among the upgrades was the pavilion shade structure fabricated and installed by Pascetti Steel.

The new pavilion shade structure, fabricated and installed by Pascetti Steel, serves as the centerpiece of this outdoor performance space. The stage, located in the southeast corner of Louis Richard Rocco Memorial Park, just south of the Westside Community Center building, is now one of the largest outdoor performance spaces for public events on Albuquerque’s west side.

These unique bus shelters are installed along Bridge Blvd in the South Valley of Albuquerque, NM. They are not just functional structures; they are a modern tribute to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region.

Designed by Pland Collaborative and inspired by the traditional form of a paraje, or resting place, found along El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. This historic trading route stretches from Mexico City to Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo in Northern New Mexico, serving as a vital link for trade and cultural exchange for centuries.

Our bus shelters feature laser-cut panels with a durable powder coating finish. This ensures precise, clean cuts and a high-quality finish. The powder coating adds an extra layer of protection, enhancing the longevity and durability of the shelters. This makes them both aesthetically pleasing and resistant to weathering.

To complement the bus shelters, we fabricated custom rusted bus station trash cans. These trash cans are designed to match the aesthetic of the shelters, providing a visually appealing streetscape. Pascetti Steel Design Inc. recently completed a large steel shade structure at Rio Rancho Campus Park which was an ideal collaboration between local design and fabrication teams.  Formative Architecture proved to be an excellent firm, designing a unique park shade structure that will last for generations.  Pascetti Steel is honored to have had the opportunity to fabricate and install this exceptional custom steel shade structure.  The main support ribs are CNC cut 1” thick steel plates.  The shade pattern is achieved by two layers of 4” angle.  Installation started with the three main ribs (pre-welded with 1.5” thick base plates) placed onto large concrete footings, by Mountain West Golfscapes.  Steel shade slats were welded on site and the final perforated Corten metal sheets were applied with matching trims.

Campus Park located within the City Center of Rio Rancho, offers a versatile outdoor community gathering area. Accessible from both Unser Blvd. and Paseo del Volcan via King Blvd., the park serves as a prime destination for city events, concerts, and daily visitors, including college students, City Center employees, and residents.

of the desert. The design takes advantage of the site’s

significant topography and adds to it, creating overlooks,

a natural amphitheater, terrace lawns, and bosque lowlands,

all in a contemporary design language. “

“To accommodate more intimate performances near the Sky Room amphitheater, Formative Architecture designed

a small shade structure and venue space. The sculptural form takes inspiration from the curved, exterior weathered steel panels, and galvanized

underbelly of the Sky Room, as well as the weathered steel, angled jetty jacks found in the Rio Grande Bosque. The sculpture interprets

these design languages,  resulting in a unique concept that still relates to the overall  park context.”       -Formative Architecture re

Pascetti Steel teamed with MRWM Architects (also known as Pland Collaborative),  Lee Landscapes, and the City of Albuquerque to fabricate a truly unique and meaningful shade structure. The Women’s Memorial Park is at the site where the remains of eleven women and an unborn child were found in 2009. Pascetti Steel was chosen to fabricate and install this eleven-piece custom steel shade structure. This plaza and shade structure serves as a central gathering space that invites people to engage in moments of quiet reflection and focuses the park’s energy to unite the women who were tragically lost.

The whole shade complex is approx. 60’ across x 10’ tall.  Each piece of the structure is unique and designed as a geometric leaf surrounding a commemorative stone plaque installed at the center of the plaza, to “signify the perseverance of the spirit,”.  10” pipe columns and tube steel structure support aluminum perforated panels that provide filtered shade throughout the day.  1” steel base plates and concrete pier footings make this park shade structure one that will last for decades to come, helping to shade park visitors while remembering the victims of these crimes.

Pascetti Steel was invited to the unveiling on November 25th, which was International Day for Elimination of Violence Toward Women. Dave Simon, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department, explained the park’s goal, stating, “The Parks Department aims to memorialize the courageous women of Albuquerque while also shedding light on the urgent need to end violence against women worldwide.”

Complete removal of disintegrating steel and concrete units was required.  New concrete footings, ADA complaint galvanized treads, and commercial railing systems are standard with these new stairs.  Coordinated installation of each unit was completed same day, tenants were not affected or inconvenienced during the process.  Owners relied upon this quick turnaround to ensure 100% occupancy and no need to supply emergency housing.

Adhering to strict government standards and security protocols, Pascetti Steel designed, fabricated and installed complete mesh panel railing and stair systems for Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque.

INTERIOR

New railing systems fabricated in 1 1/4 inch pipe with woven wire mesh infill and 12 inch channels with concrete filled treads were used on the interior and exterior stairs.

The removal of existing interior stairs, installation of new stair units, working around newly finished surfaces and tight quarters provided its challenges.

Pascetti Steel was selected by History Colorado, the state historical association,  to fabricate and install new gates and fencing to match the original historic gates and fencing.

Don Felipe de Jesus Baca was one of the first settlers of the Purgatoire River valley, one of the most important developers of Trinidad, and a member of the Colorado Territorial legislature. He is the namesake of Baca County in southeast Colorado.

In 1873, the Baca family traded 22,000 pounds of wool for an unusual adobe house built for Santa Fe Trail entrepreneur John Hough. The Baca House boasts two stories, a widow’s walk, and Greek architectural details. Colorful Rio Grande textiles, Victorian furniture, and other period furnishings evoke the lifestyle of this prominent family.

Pascetti Steel Design, Inc. was awarded the contract for the recent Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) complete reconstruction of Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, NM. This project included ADA-compliant railings and metal infill with custom perforation and an unpunched border. The infill also featured a natural, anti-graffiti aluminum finish. The Bio Park is home to 10 macaroni and 12 gentoo penguins from San Diego and 10 male king penguins from Orlando. This is the first exhibit where you can see these three species together. The closest exhibit of its kind is in San Diego, nearly 12 hours by car.

The custom mural feature sits at the entrance of the new exhibit, which is now open. The piece was inspired by the landscapes near Ushuaia, Argentina, which is home to Gentoo and King penguins.

The mural was designed by MRWM Landscape Architects and fabricated by Pascetti Steel Design.

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:

• Seven penguin viewing areas, including a glass floor and an “in-tank” viewing tube

Pascetti Steel Design has designed, fabricated and installed powder coated steel casework frames wrapped with white laminate and attached to perforated stainless steel acoustic panels at the new Mariposa Land Port of Entry in Nogales, AZ.  These stations served as public questioning areas for the many pedestrians and drivers traveling across the border entry.  The perforated panels held 3M acoustic insulation to help with the loud sound levels within these busy areas.  Some stations were equipped with bullet-resistant glass and Kevlar panels installed beneath the drywall.

Many places of worship have unique and exceptional interiors.  This is quite evident with a recent new worship space in Oceanside, CA, the Church of St. Thomas More in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego. To support her sand-carved glass relief sculpture, Pascetti Steel was hired to fabricate custom steel structures designed by Claire M. Wing, Liturgical Glass +++ Arts, a renowned professional liturgical artist and designer working nationally in leaded glass and sand-carved glass relief sculpture.

Claire Wing designed and sandblast carved three massive ¾” thick glass panels which are supported by our custom steel support system.  This system is the foundation to hold this incredible triptych glass sculpture which weighs approximately 1,000 pounds and is cantilevered from the back wall of the Annunciation Shrine.  Machined and threaded unions, escutcheon plates, matching support rods accompany the system with heavy neoprene to protect the glass artwork.

Adjacent to the glass sculpture, Ms. Wing designed a series of equally unique votive candle holders, stainless steel trays with matching inserts which Pascetti fabricated to hold sand and candles that then slide into an exterior stainless frame. The country’s largest movie theater chain, Regal Entertainment Group, is upgrading its facilities and Pascetti Steel was contracted to fabricate, finish and install theater stair railings and ADA compliant wall-mount hand railing at Regal Cottonwood Stadium 16 in Albuquerque. The refurbishment also includes new “king size” vibrating recliners and will be offering alcoholic beverages in some locations.  Additionally, working with Double AA Builders our team successfully modified stainless steel railings at the newly complete Regal Winrock Cinemas. Pascetti Steel guarantees all theater railings adhere to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) ensuring products and fabrication are safe, reliable and of premium quality.  The quick fabrication schedule was maintained by use of accurate placement jigs and pre-finished rails to control the tight production schedule.

• Precision-formed railings made from 1.5” pipe and CNC bending machinery ensures precise geometry and proper fit.  Special bending software is used to layout the complex shapes required for correct slope geometry.
• Bending pipe and forming elbows utilizes the strength and integrity of the whole pipe verses the laborious process of cutting, welding, grinding and sanding pre-made pipe elbows.  The final product is smooth, seamless and public friendly.
• Our custom, ADA compliant wall-mount railings have been fabricated with specially formed handrail brackets that ensure rails stay strong and in place with this demanding public use.

Pascetti Steel completed the installation on this difficult site, much of the cable railing was installed from a floating construction barge. The boardwalk incorporates a 50′ performance pavilion with a canopy, which provides 2,000 feet of coverage. The boardwalk serves as the stage. The project began in June of 2012 and was completed in May 2013. Additional information regarding the project can be found through the prominent Orange, TX news site, The Record (therecordlive.com)

The riverfront and pavilion sits along the Sabine River in downtown Orange and features a twelve-foot wide boardwalk, a large pavilion, and a two-acre green space. This venue serves as the host site for many of Orange’s outdoor festivals but is open to the public to enjoy.

Pascetti Steel Design recently completed the fabrication and installation of a new elevated OSHA-approved catwalk system for Western Refining in Bloomfield, NM. The catwalk was requested by Western Refining to provide top-of-tank access for refinery employees.

Pascetti Steel Design completed catwalks with cage ladder access for three large transfer stations, two exterior areas, and one interior station.  The catwalk systems were transported to the site in pieces that could be easily assembled onsite.  Design and installation for the interior area were especially challenging due to limited access in which all pieces had to be carried in by hand.  All walking surfaces are equipped with galvanized “grip-strut” planking.

All three areas were engineered to be bolted, rather than welded, onsite because the project coincided with the day-to-day operations of this fully functional oil and gas refinery. Pascetti Steel Design has earned a superior safety record, with a number of systematic processes in place to ensure job site safety. We are proud to report zero incidents during the fabrication and installation of this high-risk project.

Walter McReynolds, Supervisor at Western Refining, had this to say regarding the completed project:

“We hired Pascetti Steel Design to fabricate and install elevated catwalk systems for access to the tops of our tanks. I was thoroughly impressed with Damian and his crew.  The project was completed in several stages.  Each phase was completed faster than we expected.  Damian and his crew were extremely knowledgeable and their craftsmanship was impeccable.  We will use Pascetti Steel in the future.”

Western Refining owns and operates two refineries with a total crude oil throughput capacity of approximately 151,000 barrels per day (bpd) producing primarily high-value light products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Pascetti Steel Design has completed the fabrication and installation of a one-of-a-kind custom steel sculpture at the Carlisle Circle Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The geometric patterned media art is made from rolled steel that is cleverly decorated with colored acrylic circular inserts and measures 60 linear feet. This project was originally designed by architect William Kleinschmidt of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Always eager to take on commercial projects, this piece was a great opportunity to create something unique for our community that adds much-needed flare to an otherwise ordinary section of Albuquerque. We take great enjoyment in knowing that thousands of daily commuters will admire our sculpture for many years to come.
